Chandigarh, May 31, 2026:-At 35,000 feet, the calm voice guiding passengers through turbulence, helping during a medical situation, or stepping in during a security concern may appear natural and effortless. In reality, these moments go far beyond just instinct. Each cabin crew goes through rigorous training and preparation to develop these qualities in themselves. On International Cabin Crew Day, here is a glimpse into the journey of becoming a cabin crew professional, where young individuals transform into confident professionals, capable of handling both people and pressure with ease.

Much More Than Service

Cabin crew are trained to be first responders, crowd management professionals, and crisis communicators, who also happen to serve customers.

Aviation is a highly regulated sector across the globe and like all other aspects, even the minimum standards for cabin crew are defined by the respective regulator(s) covering safety and emergency procedures, handling dangerous goods, first aid certification, and aviation security. These requirements exist because the consequences of unpreparedness at altitude can be irreversible. Yet airlines have consistently gone beyond compliance, recognising that technical readiness alone does not create a capable crew member.

What Training Really Looks Like

The training spanning a minimum of twelve weeks is structured around several disciplines. The foundation is laid by acquainting trainees with aviation regulations, aircraft systems, emergency equipment, and the legal and operational frameworks. This is followed by aircraft-type specific training, where crew are qualified on the aircraft they will operate.

Emergency preparedness is the most demanding component. They are trained to manage fires onboard, decompressions, medical events, evacuations, bomb threats, and hijack situations. They learn dangerous goods regulations, first aid for CPR, asthma attacks, panic episodes, epilepsy, and childbirth, and water evacuation and survival, including deployment of raft and other survival equipment. This training does not happen in classrooms alone. It is delivered through mock aircraft cabins, firefighting drills, water survival exercises, and full slide evacuation practice. The goal is to ensure that in a crisis, responses are quick and natural.

Sheetal Rana, Lead Cabin Attendant with IndiGo, reflects on her training days at ifly, the learning academy of the airline. She said that she thought the role was about service. She was amazed to learn that service is only a small part; we are trained to step up when it matters most, which may be in any kind of situation. We shoulder a lot of responsibility when we step into that aircraft.

Trainees at ifly undergo assessments benchmarked significantly above the regulatory minimum standards and must complete supervised familiarisation flights before they are rostered as operational crew.

The high intensity of simulation-based trainings is by design. Neha Pancholi, another cabin crew member at IndiGo describes her first firefighting drill: "The cabin was filled with smoke, instructions were rapid, and we had to act instantly. It was intense. But it taught me how to stay focused under pressure."

The Human Factor: Communication, Empathy, and Presence

Emotional intelligence, communication, and composed presence are central to cabin safety. Cabin crew interact with passengers from different backgrounds, sometimes even in stressful situations. Training in active listening, cultural sensitivity, inclusive language, and tone of voice ensures that interactions are handled with both professionalism and warmth. At IndiGo this approach is described as “Service from the Heart”, where genuine care is treated as a professional skill that is practised and perfected. Trainees practise on real-world case studies: managing a nervous first-time flyer, assisting an elderly passenger, handling a complaint with grace while under operational pressure and a lot more.

Imtinaro Jamir, Lead Cabin Attendant, IndiGo recalled that during training, we’re taught structured ways to handle difficult situations — starting with listening and acknowledging the passenger’s concern, then responding with empathy before moving towards a solution. These techniques help us manage our own emotions and stay calm, even when someone is frustrated or overwhelmed. We also learn to ‘bury the no’, so instead of focusing on what we can’t do, we try and guide the conversation towards what we can do to help.

Chandigarh, May 30, 2026:-गांव अटावा स्थित गवर्नमेंट डिस्पेंसरी एवं आंगनवाड़ी केंद्र में नेचर नाइन फाउंडेशन, चंडीगढ़ टेंट डीलर्स सोसाइटी तथा क्षेत्र के पार्षद जसबीर सिंह बंटी के संयुक्त प्रयासों से एक विशाल मेगा हेल्थ चेकअप कैंप का सफल आयोजन किया गया। खराब मौसम और बारिश के बावजूद क्षेत्रवासियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक कैंप में भाग लिया तथा निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं का लाभ उठाया।

कैंप में पोस्टग्रेजुएट इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल एजुकेशन एंड रिसर्च (PGI), चंडीगढ़ के विशेषज्ञ चिकित्सकों द्वारा आंखों की जांच की गई। इस दौरान 200 से अधिक लोगों की नेत्र जांच की गई तथा जिन लोगों की दृष्टि कमजोर पाई गई, उन्हें निःशुल्क चश्मे वितरित किए गए।

इसके अलावा पार्क हॉस्पिटल, सेक्टर-69, मोहाली के वरिष्ठ हृदय रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. संकल्प शर्मा  ने हृदय रोगों की जांच एवं परामर्श प्रदान किया। उन्होंने बताया कि पार्क हॉस्पिटल में आने वाले मरीजों से ओपीडी शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा तथा उपचार भी न्यूनतम लागत पर उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। आयुष्मान भारत योजना के पात्र लाभार्थियों को नियमानुसार निःशुल्क उपचार की सुविधा भी प्रदान की जाएगी।

डॉ. तुषार, इंचार्ज गवर्नमेंट डिस्पेंसरी एवं मेडिसिन विशेषज्ञ, ने भी अपनी विशेषज्ञ सेवाएं प्रदान करते हुए मरीजों का स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण किया और आवश्यक चिकित्सकीय परामर्श दिया। कैंप में निःशुल्क आंखों की जांच, हृदय रोग जांच, शुगर एवं ब्लड प्रेशर परीक्षण, सामान्य स्वास्थ्य जांच तथा ईसीजी (ECG) जैसी महत्वपूर्ण स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं उपलब्ध करवाई गईं। बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने इन सुविधाओं का लाभ उठाते हुए अपने स्वास्थ्य की जांच करवाई। 

इस अवसर पर जसबीर सिंह बंटी, पार्षद, नगर निगम चंडीगढ़ ने कहा कि समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं पहुंचाना हम सभी की सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी है। ऐसे स्वास्थ्य शिविर न केवल लोगों को समय पर जांच और उपचार की सुविधा प्रदान करते हैं, बल्कि उन्हें स्वास्थ्य के प्रति जागरूक भी बनाते हैं। उन्होंने कैंप के सफल आयोजन के लिए सभी सहयोगी संस्थाओं, चिकित्सकों एवं स्वयंसेवकों का आभार व्यक्त किया। 

इस मौके पर चंडीगढ़ टेंट डीलर्स सोसायटी के जनरल सेक्रेटरी अमनदीप सिंह ने भी टेंट यूनियन के सदस्यों की स्वास्थ्य जांच करवाई और समाजसेवा से जुड़े ऐसे प्रयासों को निरंतर जारी रखने की बात कही। कार्यक्रम में राजकुमार शर्मा (प्रधान, आरडब्ल्यूए), त्रिलोचन सिंह बंटी, नेहा गुप्ता, अमनदीप सिंह, राजेंद्र अरोड़ा, तरसेम शर्मा, पवन सिंह सहित अनेक गणमान्य नागरिक, समाजसेवी एवं क्षेत्रवासी उपस्थित रहे।

Chandigarh, May 30, 2025:- थिरकन ललित कला केंद्रा फाउंडेशन द्वारा आर्टिस्ट एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया के सहयोग से टैगोर थिएटर में प्रस्तुत भव्य नृत्य-नाट्य प्रस्तुति “शक्ति – द बर्निंग साइलेंस” ने दर्शकों के हृदय को गहराई से स्पर्श किया। शास्त्रीय नृत्य, भावपूर्ण अभिव्यक्तियों, प्रभावशाली कहानी, संगीत और एक सशक्त सामाजिक संदेश से सजी इस प्रस्तुति को दर्शकों ने भरपूर सराहना और प्रेम दिया।

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ पावन गणेश वंदना से हुआ, जिसके पश्चात लाइव भरतनाट्यम, कथक, तराना तथा मुख्य नृत्य-नाटिका “शक्ति – द बर्निंग साइलेंस” की मनमोहक प्रस्तुतियाँ दी गईं। प्रत्येक प्रस्तुति ने दर्शकों को भावनाओं, अध्यात्म और भारतीय शास्त्रीय कलाओं की समृद्धता से जोड़ दिया।

“शक्ति – द बर्निंग साइलेंस” केवल एक नृत्य-नाटिका नहीं, बल्कि उन अनगिनत महिलाओं के मौन संघर्षों की भावनात्मक यात्रा थी, जो अपने भीतर की दिव्य शक्ति, साहस और आत्मबल को संजोए रहती हैं। शास्त्रीय कलाओं के माध्यम से इस प्रस्तुति का उद्देश्य जागरूकता, भावनात्मक संवेदनशीलता और आत्मशक्ति का संदेश फैलाना था।

इस अवसर पर विशिष्ट अतिथियों के रूप में नरेंद्र धंड, भूपिंदर सिंह (आईपीएस), एस.पी. राजशेखरन, अभिषेक शर्मा तथा गुरु मैय्या श्रीमती इल्ला पांडे उपस्थित रहे। सभी गणमान्य अतिथियों ने विद्यार्थियों के अनुशासन, समर्पण, कलात्मक उत्कृष्टता और मंच पर भावपूर्ण अभिव्यक्तियों की अत्यंत सराहना की।

संस्था की आर्टिस्टिक डायरेक्टर रचिता राठौर ने बताया कि इस प्रस्तुति में लगभग 65 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया, जिनकी आयु 6 वर्ष से प्रारंभ होती है। प्रस्तुति में डॉक्टर, बैंक मैनेजर, आईटी प्रोफेशनल्स तथा विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से जुड़े कार्यरत वयस्क विद्यार्थियों ने भी उत्साहपूर्वक सहभागिता निभाई।

उन्होंने कहा कि संस्था का उद्देश्य बचपन से ही भारतीय शास्त्रीय नृत्य कलाओं के प्रति रुचि जागृत करना है, ताकि ये कलाएँ बच्चों के जीवन में गहराई से रच-बस जाएँ और हमारी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक धरोहर को विलुप्त होने से बचाया जा सके। उन्होंने सांस्कृतिक विभाग से अनुरोध किया कि छोटे बच्चों को अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित करने के लिए अधिक मंच और अवसर प्रदान किए जाएँ, जिससे अधिक युवा पीढ़ी शास्त्रीय कलाओं से जुड़ सके और इन परंपराओं को भविष्य तक सुरक्षित रखा जा सके।

उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि आज भारतीय शास्त्रीय नृत्य कलाओं के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए सांस्कृतिक संस्थाओं, शिक्षण संस्थानों, अभिभावकों और कला प्रेमियों को सामूहिक प्रयास करने की आवश्यकता है। विभिन्न कलात्मक समुदायों के सहयोग से होने वाले सांस्कृतिक आयोजन न केवल युवा पीढ़ी को अपनी जड़ों से जोड़ते हैं, बल्कि समाज को भारतीय संस्कृति की सुंदरता, गहराई और आध्यात्मिक समृद्धता का अनुभव भी कराते हैं।

उन्होंने यह भी रेखांकित किया कि शास्त्रीय नृत्य केवल एक कला नहीं, बल्कि मानसिक शांति, भावनात्मक संतुलन, आत्मविश्वास और अनुशासन का सशक्त माध्यम है। आज के तनावपूर्ण जीवन में कथक और भरतनाट्यम जैसे नृत्य बच्चों और युवाओं के लिए प्रभावी तनाव-निवारक के रूप में कार्य करते हैं, जो सकारात्मकता, एकाग्रता, भावनात्मक अभिव्यक्ति और आंतरिक संतुलन प्रदान करते हैं।

उन्होंने अभिभावकों और युवाओं को प्रेरित करते हुए कहा कि भारतीय शास्त्रीय कलाओं को केवल मंचीय प्रस्तुति न समझें, बल्कि जीवन और संस्कृति का अभिन्न हिस्सा मानते हुए उन्हें अपनाएँ और आने वाली पीढ़ियों तक पहुँचाएँ।

इस प्रस्तुति का क्रिएटिव डायरेक्शन आशीष शुक्ला द्वारा किया गया, जबकि कोरियोग्राफी सुश्री अनुश्री लाडिया भार्गव एवं सुश्री स्वाति शर्मा ने तैयार की। प्रभावशाली स्क्रिप्ट लेखन और सशक्त नैरेशन सुश्री पूनम पंत द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया। तकनीकी एवं विश्लेषणात्मक मार्गदर्शन  अरिजीत मुखर्जी द्वारा प्रदान किया गया। कार्यक्रम का सुंदर संचालन राकेश अरोड़ा ने किया।

देश भगत विश्वविद्यालय ने अत्याधुनिक ऑडियो-विजुअल मीडिया स्टूडियो का किया उद्घाटन

Mandi Gobindgarh, May 30, 2026:- देश भगत विश्वविद्यालय ने अपने मंडी गोबिंदगढ़ परिसर में नए ऑडियो-विजुअल स्टूडियो के उद्घाटन के साथ शिक्षण और मीडिया क्षमताओं में एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की।

इस स्टूडियो का औपचारिक उद्घाटन माननीय चांसलर डॉ. ज़ोरा सिंह और प्रो-चांसलर डॉ. तजिंदर कौर द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी, प्राध्यापकगण तथा विशिष्ट अतिथि उपस्थित रहे। यह नई सुविधा नवाचार, डिजिटल शिक्षा तथा विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों के लिए उन्नत संचार संसाधनों के प्रति विश्वविद्यालय की प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाती है।

अपने संबोधन में डॉ. ज़ोरा सिंह ने उच्च शिक्षा में आधुनिक तकनीकी अवसंरचना की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि यह ऑडियो-विजुअल स्टूडियो विद्यार्थियों को व्यावहारिक अनुभव प्रदान करेगा तथा मीडिया और संचार के क्षेत्र में उनके सीखने के अवसरों का विस्तार करेगा।

डॉ. तजिंदर कौर ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय निरंतर ऐसी आधुनिक सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध कराने के लिए प्रयासरत है, जो विद्यार्थियों के कौशल विकास और शैक्षणिक उत्कृष्टता को प्रोत्साहित करें।

Chandigarh, May 30, 2026:- नौगजा पीर (नवाज घाट) सिसवां में 31वां सालाना उर्स मुबारक आगामी 04 जून 2026 वीरवार को पूरी अकीदत और धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाएगा। इस आयोजन में भारी संख्या में श्रद्धालु पहुंचते हैं, और मजार पर चादर चढ़ा अपने परिवार और समस्त मानव कल्याण की दुआ मांगते है। सूफियाना कलाम व कव्वाली की महफिलें सजती हैं, जिसमे दिग्गज व नामी सूफी कव्वाल अपनी कव्वालियों से समारोह में समां बांध देते है। यह जानकारी पीर जी गद्दीनशीन सईयद मौलाना मुनतजीम अली शाह ने दी। उर्स मुबारक हर साल यहां पर बनाया जाता है इसको बनाने का मकसद सिर्फ यह है कि हम सूफी संत गुरु जिन्होंने हमें यह समझा है कि इंसानियत धर्म सबसे ऊपर है यही यहां पर देखने को मिलता है सबसे बड़ी बात है यहां पर आसपास के गांव मिलकर इस पर्व को बनाते हैं इसमें हिंदू भी है मुसलमान भी है सिख भी है और इसी भी है कहते हैं कि यहां पर सूफी संत द्वारा तपस्या की गई थी यह सैकड़ो वर्ष पुरानी नौकरशा पीर है यहां पर जो भी भगत आता है वह अपनी मुराद पूरी  करके जाता है इसलिए यहां पर देश-विदेश से लोग आकर अपना सर झुकाते हैं

इस अवसर पर एस ए खान- जनरल सेक्रेटरी, चेतन प्रकाश, बलविंदर सिंह कुम्भडा, जसदीप सिंह निहंग और सज्जन सिंह सरपंच भी उपस्थित थे।

चंडीगढ़ प्रेस क्लब में प्रेस वार्ता के दौरान पीर जी सईयद मौलाना मुनतजीम अली शाह ने बताया कि नौगजा पीर (नवाज घाट) सिसवां में 31वां सालाना उर्स मुबारक पूरी इबादत- अकीदत और धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है।  इस पाक मौके पर बाबा नौ गजा पीर जी की दरगाह व बाबा शाहजी मौलाना अब्दुल रहीम शाह जी की दरगाह पर चादर चढ़ाने की रस्म अदा की जाती है।उर्स मुबारक  मेले में देश के विभिन्न कोनों से भारी संख्या में श्रद्धालु दरगाह में पहुंचते हैं और अपनी, अपने परिवार व समस्त मानव कल्याण की सुख शांति व सलामती के लिए दुआ मांगते हैं।। उर्स मुबारक मेले के दौरान आयोजित सूफियाना कलाम और कव्वाली की रातें इस आयोजन का मुख्य केंद्र होती हैं। इस बार नामी बॉलीवुड सिंगर कमाल खान, सूफी गायक इशरत गुलाम अली, सूफी गायक काशी  नाथ, सूफी गायक सरदार अली और सूफी गायक विनीत खान अपनी मधुर आवाज से श्रोताओं को निहाल करेंगे। 

उर्स मुबारक मेले मौके पर एक विशाल लंगर का आयोजन होता है, जिसमें सभी धर्मों और समुदायों के लोग बढ़-चढ़कर शामिल होते हैं।

1 वोट से हारी भाजपा उम्मीदवार ने मोहाली प्रशासन पर लगाए सरकार के अधीन काम करने और धक्केशाही के आरोप

Mohali, May 30, 2026:-मोहाली के अधीन आते गाँव बल्लोमाजरा (वार्ड नम्बर 47) से नगर निगम चुनाव लड़ रही भाजपा उम्मीदवार सुखदीप कौर ने चुनाव परिणाम के दौरान मोहाली प्रशासन और पुलिस प्रशासन पर धक्केशाही और सरकार के अधीन काम करने के आरोप लगाए हैं।

सुखदीप कौर ने मोहाली प्रशासन और पुलिस प्रशासन पर आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि गत दिवस 29 मई को आए चुनाव परिणाम के दौरान उन्हें आप उम्मीदवार परमिंदर कौर से 1 वोट से हारे घोषित किया गया। 1624 पोल हुई वोट में उन्हें 424 वोट मिले, जबकि परमिंदर कौर को 425 वोट हासिल हुई और उसे विजयी घोषित कर दिया गया। उन्होंने इस को लेकर आर ओ (एस डी एम) दमनदीप कौर व शमिंदर सिंह और अन्य से काउंटिंग को लेकर आपति जताई। लेकिन आर ओ दमनप्रीत कौर ने उनकी एक न् सुनी और पुलिस प्रशासन को बोलकर उन्हें धक्के मार कर हाल से बाहर करवा दिया। उन्होंने बड़ा शोर मचाया और प्रशासन और पुलिस बल द्वारा की गई धक्केशाही के खिलाफ खूब शोर मचाया। लेकिन कोई हल नही निकला।

सुखदीप कौर ने बताया कि सरकार की धक्केशाही इतनी जबरदस्त रही कि उन्होंने विजेता उम्मीदवार को दिए विनिंग सर्टिफिकेट में उनके हस्ताक्षर करवाना ही मुनासिब नही समझा। उन्होंने कहा कि इन निगम चुनावों में सरकार की तरफ से पूरी तरह धक्केशाही और गुंडागर्दी की गई है। आप सरकार ने अपने उम्मीदवारों को जिताने में  कोई कसर नही छोड़ी। सरकार ने स्थानीय प्रशासन और पुलिस बल की पूरी मदद ली है। 

उन्होंने मांग की कि उनके वार्ड में पुनः से निष्पक्ष चुनाव करवाए जाएं। जिससे कि सही और उचित उम्मीदवार ही जीते।

Despite these conditions, the underlying performance of the business remained resilient.During the year, our capacity grew by 9.5% and total income increased by over 6%. Excluding the impact of foreign exchange and exceptional items, IndiGo delivered a profit of INR 75 billion. He added that we continue to maintain a strong balance sheet with substantial liquidity, demonstrating resilience through prolonged periods of volatility. I would like to thank our 123 million customers for placing their trust in us, and our 69,000 dedicated IndiGo team members for their extraordinary professionalism. While the near term remains volatile, we remain firmly focused on disciplined execution, cost efficiency, and long-term value creation.

Revenue and Cost Comparisons

Total income for the quarter ended March 2026 was INR 238,307 million, an increase of 3.2% over the same period last year. For the quarter, our passenger ticket revenues were INR 194,258 million, a decrease of 0.7% and ancillary revenues were INR 23,515 million, an increase of 9.2% compared to the same period last year.

Network and Fleet

·            As of 31st March 2026, fleet of 441 aircraft including 31 A320 CEOs (5 damp lease), 177 A320 NEOs, 172 A321 NEOs (4 damp lease), 1 A321XLR, 46 ATRs, 3 A321 freighters, 5 B737 (damp lease) and 6 B787 (damp lease); a net increase of 1 passenger aircraft during the quarter.

·            IndiGo operated at a peak of 2,241 daily flights during the quarter including non-scheduled flights.

Operational Performance

ACFI Holds Awareness Programme on Sustainable Agriculture Practices in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 29, 2026:-Agro Chem Federation of India (ACFI) today organised an awareness and interaction programme for agri dealers and distributors in Punjab and Haryana to strengthen collaboration between the agrochemical industry and channel partners to promote sustainable and scientific farming practices.

The programme, themed “Strengthening Dealer Industry Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture”, touched on issues such as responsible product use, farmer awareness, stewardship initiatives, and safe agricultural practices amid evolving regulatory expectations.

The programme was organised in Chandigarh on Friday by ACFI, a non-profit organisation representing the Indian agrochemical industry.

Kalyan Goswami, Director General, ACFI, said that agri dealers and distributors serve as the first point of interaction for farmers and therefore play a critical role in guiding farming communities towards scientific and judicious use of agrochemicals. The event focussed on building farmer trust through responsible advisory practices, addressing misinformation around pesticide usage, strengthening coordination between industry and distribution networks, and improving farmer education at the grassroots level.

The programme also deliberated on best practices for responsible agri-input retailing, preventing counterfeit products, enhancing productivity while ensuring environmental safety, and encouraging informed decision-making at the farm level.

Paras Health Panchkula Successfully Performs Advanced Endoscopic Surgery to Repair Rare Recurrent Brain Fluid Leak

Panchkula, May 28, 2026:-Paras Health Panchkula has successfully treated a 56-year-old man suffering from a rare recurrent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak using a minimally invasive transnasal endoscopic surgical approach. The complex procedure helped prevent the risk of severe brain infection and ensured faster recovery without any external cuts.

The patient had been experiencing clear watery discharge from his right nostril for the past 3–4 months, which worsened whenever he bent forward — a common but often overlooked symptom of CSF rhinorrhoea, a condition where the protective brain fluid leaks through the nose due to a defect in the skull base.

Notably, the patient had previously undergone surgery nearly 8–9 months ago for a similar leak near the front part of the skull, which had healed successfully. However, further investigations revealed that increased pressure inside the skull had caused another weak area to develop a leak.

Advanced imaging investigations, including HRCT PNS and MRI Brain with MR Cisternography, identified a small defect in the lateral wall of the sphenoid sinus — a deep sinus located behind the nose — along with protrusion of the brain lining through the opening.

The team of specialists at Paras Health Panchkula performed a transnasal endoscopic repair, a highly advanced minimally invasive technique carried out entirely through the nasal passages. During the procedure, surgeons carefully accessed the deep-seated defect, repositioned the leaking tissue, and repaired the opening using the patient’s own tissue along with specialized graft material to strengthen healing.

Following the surgery, the patient was monitored with a temporary lumbar drain for 72 hours to reduce pressure on the repaired site. He recovered well without any further leakage or complications.

Commenting on the case, Dr. Gaurav Sharma – Neurosurgery said that cerebrospinal fluid leaks are serious conditions that should never be ignored, as they can increase the risk of life-threatening brain infections like meningitis. In this patient’s case, the challenge was the recurrence of the leak at a different location due to raised intracranial pressure. Using advanced transnasal endoscopic techniques, we were able to safely access the defect through the nose, repair the leak precisely, and help the patient recover without the need for any external incision. Early diagnosis and timely treatment play a crucial role in preventing complications.

Adding further, Dr. Pankaj Mittal said that this successful case reflects the advanced clinical expertise and multidisciplinary approach available at Paras Health Panchkula. A Book on Unsung Hero of India's Freedom Struggle Dr Thakar Singh Ikolaha Presented to Governor Punjab

Chandigarh, May 28, 2026:-Rtn Hassan Singh Mejie, the great grandson of freedom fighter and philosopher, Dr. Thakar Singh Ikolaha, presented his biography to the Governor of Punjab Shri Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Lok Bhawan yesterday. 

Hassan Mejie informed the Governor Punjab about India’s most extraordinary yet unsung freedom fighter, who expressed keen interest in the story. 

A physician, statesman, and revolutionary, Dr. Thakar Singh was the first Secretary General of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and a former President of the Shiromani Akali Dal. 

His life reads like a forgotten chapter of history: arrested multiple times by colonial authorities for his unflinching commitment to India’s independence, he carried the struggle far beyond Punjab’s borders.

During his years in exile, Dr. Thakar Singh's residence in Canton, China, became a clandestine hub of the international freedom movement. It was here that revolutionaries including Ras Behari Bose, Raja Mohinder Partap Singh, and prominent Chinese freedom fighters and philosophers met regularly — strategizing, sheltering, and sustaining the dream of a free India. 

The house stood as a rare bridge between India’s independence movement and the wider Asian anti-colonial struggle.

The biography draws on rare letters, archives of Imperial Library in London, UK, SGPC records, newspaper clippings, and historic documents to reconstruct the life of a man who shaped institutions, defied empires, and yet remained absent from popular memory.

It traces his journey from village physician to political architect, from prison cells to international diplomacy, and restores his place among the pantheon of freedom fighters who chose conscience over comfort.

His great grandson Hassan Singh Mejie, said that this is not just Dr. Thakar Singh’s story,  he said that it is the story of countless unsung heroes whose sacrifices were foundational to 1947. 

He added that by remembering him, we remember what the freedom struggle actually cost — and who paid for it. 

The book explores themes of sacrifice, faith in action, transnational resistance, and the Sikh contribution to India’s independence. 

Hassan Singh Mejie is a leading businessman with operations in India, Dubai and UK, and a philanthropist managing a social enterprise Mehar Baba Charitable Trust, serving the 200 villages in Fatehgarh District of Punjab since 1998.

Chitkara International School Students Shine at MaRRS International Spelling Bee 2026

Chandigarh, May 27, 2026:-Students of Chitkara International School delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious MaRRS International Spelling Bee Championship 2026 held in Mumbai recently, bringing international recognition to the institution and the region. Mohali, May 27, 2026:-Reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation-driven education, and institutional development, CGC University Mohali successfully conducted its 2nd Academic Council Meeting. The high-level meeting brought together renowned educationists, industry experts, and senior administrators from across the country to deliberately discuss the university's future academic directions and policies.

The meeting commenced with the rendering of the National Anthem. Welcoming the esteemed members, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Goyal reiterated the university's vision to establish a global footprint by blending research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethical values with student-centric education. He emphasized the vital importance of aligning with the evolving technological landscape, strengthening industry-academia partnerships, and adopting modern pedagogical frameworks.

Comprehensive deliberations were held regarding the university's academic, examination, and Ph.D. regulations. The Council highly appreciated the university's concerted efforts in aligning its academic policies with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), ensuring transparency and flexibility in the examination system, and reinforcing outcome-based education. Keeping in view the contemporary demands of the industrial sector, special emphasis was laid on introducing future-ready programs in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Fintech, Business Analytics, and Digital Transformation.

Furthermore, the Council reviewed the strategic roadmap of the newly envisioned 'Newton School of AI & Computing' and 'Meta School of Business', developed in strategic collaboration with globally acclaimed organizations like IBM, EY, and KPMG.

During the session, major institutional milestones were prominently highlighted, including the university's inclusion under the UGC Act, listing in AISHE, membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and statutory approvals secured from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). Concluding the meeting successfully, Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Examinations) & Registrar, CGC University Mohali, extended a formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries.

Expressing his satisfaction, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Founding Chancellor of CGC University, congratulated all the council members, experts, and officials on the successful conduct of the meeting.
