Mohali, May 28, 2026:-The three-day 1st Kabir Bajwa Memorial Table Tennis Tournament 2026 concluded with highly thrilling and fiercely contested final matches at the sports complex of Shaimrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali. The final day of the tournament witnessed a tremendous clash among young paddlers competing for the title, where the players mesmerized the audience with their exceptional agility, precise technique, and high-speed rallies on the court. In this prestigious memorial tournament, teams from 7 renowned schools of the Tricity and surrounding regions—Learning Paths School, Shaimrock School Mohali, Manav Rachna Mohali, Vivek High School Chandigarh, Amity School Mohali, St. Joseph’s Chandigarh, and Paragon School Sector-71—vied for the championship trophy.
In the Under-14 (Boys) final, players from Learning Paths School displayed outstanding aggressive gameplay to defeat Vivek High School Chandigarh in a one-sided 3-0 match, clinching the first 'Kabir Bajwa Memorial' championship trophy. Meanwhile, in the Under-12 (Girls) category, the host Shaimrock School Mohali girls showcased brilliant coordination on court to secure a magnificent victory by defeating Paragon School 3-0.
The Under-12 (Boys) match played between Shaimrock School and Vivek School was a closely fought battle. Riding on their superior services, Vivek School won the match 3-1. In the play-off for the third position in the Under-14 (Boys) category, Vivek School defeated Shaimrock School 3-0 to secure the bronze medal.
Throughout the tournament, the performance of the host Shaimrock School players remained remarkably consistent and stellar. Registering a strong presence in every category, the school secured the 'Overall Runner-Up' (second position) in both the Under-12 Girls and Under-14 Girls categories, while bagging the third spot in the Under-12 Boys division. During the closing ceremony, Shaimrock School Chairman A. S. Bajwa honored the winning players with magnificent trophies and certificates. Sports experts lauded the successful organization of the event, stating that the 'Kabir Bajwa Memorial Tournament' will emerge as a massive platform for budding table tennis stars in the times to come.
