AIHM organise Inter College Flower Arrangement on World Tourism Day

Chandigarh 27th September:-----Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, sector 42, celebrated World Tourism Day which was a befitting occasion for the spontaneous outburst of high spirits in a wide range of talent and creativity. On this occasion a number of vivacious events were organized in the Institute premises to mark the celebrations of the day. Around 150 candidates participated in the various categories of the competitions.

 

An inter college flower arrangement (fresh & dry category), poster making and slogan writing competition was organised on the theme "Tourism & Sustainable Energy – Powering Sustainable Development". The students participated with full enthusiasm and joy, showcasing the best of their talent and creativity in the events. A Cake Decoration demonstration was also organized for the students where the students were showcased how different types of cakes are prepared, the different ingredients used in making cakes and how they are decorated to make them more appealing and attractive. The students were also familiarized with the latest trends and happenings in the cake making business.

 

Mrs. Bharti Tyagi, the Principal of the Institute said that tourism offers a wonderful connecting thread between visitor and host community. It promotes dialogue and interaction. Such contact between people of different backgrounds is the very foundation for tolerance. In a world struggling for peaceful coexistence, tourism can build bridges and contribute to peace.
