Chandigarh 23rd August:--- The Computer Science and Applications Department of MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised the iTech Fiesta today. The unique endeavor showcasing the evolution of technology and preparing the students for an ever flourishing IT indistry was suffused with a plethora of activities all reinvented to incorporate the technological theme. The amusing tech news, a comic tech themed portrayal of the famous Devdas, Tech Quiz, Powerpoint presentations, spell binding Tech Giddha on Tech boliyan enthralled all and traditinal competitions such as essay writing, poster making, collage making, debugging and tech rangoli were also given a technological twist. Insightful documentaries on kal-aaj-kal of information technology were played. The event was further enlivened by an exemplary innovative concept- the Tech modelling which depicted the evolution of computers from first generation to the most futuristic technologies and trends. Tech waste was refurbished into decorative pieces of art by the creative artists of MCM.
The chief guest at the occasion Mrs.Prerna Puri, Secretary, IT and Dr.Symala Devi, Professor, DCSA, PU graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The chief guest applauded the exceptional endeavor and said that such holistic training is imperative to the overall development of the students. She encouraged the students to make the most of such diligent opportunities to gain proficiency at various levels and arm themselves for the ever embracing and ever growing IT Industry.
Prachi Kheterpal and Ginni Makkar were the winners of essay competition. The superlative poster of Amanjot bagged her the first position in poster making while the second position went to Priyanka Jain. Shefali and Ratika won the first prize in collage making while Yangshain and Tina Garg & Aishwarya and Sonali bagged the first and second prize for debugging. Yangshain also clinched the IT quiz followed by Anjali Negi at second position. Jasmine and Deepali won the Power Point Presentation Contest and the prizes for Tech rangoli went to Apoorva and Ayushi.
The Principal of the college Dr.Puneet Bedi appreciated the unique envisioning to compliment the training imparted at MCM. She said that the events with such an exceptionally creative and and avant garde vision promote pragmatic training and prepare the students for mutitasking in their professional lives
