Chandigarh 27th July:--- North Zone Film & TV Association today organized the 3rd Annual award function at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh in which awards were given to five eminent personalities of Punjabi Films and Television. The recipients of the Awards were Mehal Mittal, Jaspal Bhatti (posthumous), Parvesh Sethi, Nirmal Rishi & Anita Shabdeesh for their meritorious contribution to the Punjabi Cinema.
A short cultural programme was also held viz. Bhangra, a comedy skit by Sh. Bhottu Shah and his team and a short play 'Chirri di Amber Wal Udaan' by Anita Shabdeesh on the theme of women. Mehar Mittal enthralled the audience with his tit-bits. Others on the occasion who spoke were Sh. J.S.Cheema, B.B. Verma, Vijay Tandon, Manmohan Singh and Malkiat Rauni. The show was anchored by Gurleen Kaur. The renowned artistes present on the aforesaid show include Ravinder Peepat, B.N.Sharma, Binnu Dhillon, Rana Ranbir & Karmjit Anmol.
