Mohali, May 04, 2026:-Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase II, celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day by organizing a special event on the theme “Design Thinking and Innovation for Sustainable Solutions.” The session was conducted by the institution’s Innovation Council in collaboration with the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
To make the event more engaging, competitions such as Innovation Hunt and Waste to Wealth were organized among students. During these activities, students demonstrated their creativity by developing eco-friendly and sustainable models using everyday discarded materials.
A brainstorming session was also conducted, where students presented modern and cost-effective solutions to various social issues. It was highlighted during the session that creativity stems from curiosity and observation, while innovation lies in effectively addressing real-world challenges. Students were encouraged to think beyond conventional methods and identify gaps in their surroundings to develop practical solutions.
On this occasion, Director Dr. Anit Bedi honored the winning students and emphasized that creativity and innovation are key to success in today’s rapidly changing world. He added that such events inspire students to think critically and contribute meaningfully to societal progress.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates were distributed to all participants. Students also pledged to continue working on innovative projects in the future. The program concluded with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of commitment among students towards contributing to the nation’s development.
