Panchkula, May 03, 2026:- Rajasthan defeated UP Media Fighters by 4 wickets to secure a place in the final of the Journalist Premier League 2026 played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium. They will now face Himachal in the title clash.
In the semi final clash, after winning the toss, UP Media Fighters opted to bat first but had a poor start, losing early wickets. Zuhaib (13), Mayur Shukla (21) and Rishi Singh Sengar (7) were dismissed cheaply. However, Satendra Mehrotra (47) and Devesh Pandey (58) steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Devesh played an aggressive knock, scoring 58 runs off 31 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six. UP Media Fighters managed to post 169/8 in their 20 overs.
For Rajasthan, Ankit Tiwari and Avaj Panchal picked up two wickets each while Manish Dixit and skipper Aditya Atreya claimed one wicket apiece.
Chasing a target of 170, Rajasthan got off to a steady start. Satish Kumawat scored a brisk 41 off 25 balls to give momentum, but a middle-order collapse left the team struggling at 88/5. At this crucial stage, Garvit Narang played a composed and match-winning unbeaten knock of 45 runs. Manish Dixit also contributed a quick 21 runs to guide the team home.
Rajasthan chased down the target in 19.3 overs, finishing at 172/6. For UP Media Fighters, Rishi Singh Sengar took 3 wickets.
