Karnal, Mar.13, 2026:- A mega health camp to mark World Kidney Day was held at Park Hospital Karnal today. During the camp, Dr Sheenam Sharma, nephrologist educated people about kidney health, risk factors, and preventive lifestyle measures.
Among others, Renu Bala Gupta the Mayor and Dr Sachin Sood CEO Park were present during the occasion,
Dr Sheenam Sharma said that chronic kidney disease has become a major global health challenge, affecting nearly 10% of the world's population, which translates to around 850 million people worldwide.
In India alone, more than 138 million people are estimated to be suffering from kidney disease, making awareness and early detection extremely important, he informed.
Dr Sharma further shared that kidney disease often develops silently without noticeable symptoms in the early stages, which is why regular screening becomes crucial, especially for people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or family history of kidney disease.
