Mohali, Mar.13, 2026:-Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2 organized a special informative session in the institute's auditorium to mark 'World Kidney Day.' Senior doctors from PGI, Chandigarh, attended as keynote speakers and shared vital tips on kidney health with students and faculty members. The session featured Prof. Dr. Harbir Singh Kohli, Head of the Nephrology Department at PGI, and Additional Professor Dr. Raja Ramachandran. They were accompanied by Senior Residents Dr. Avichal Rajpal and Dr. G. Bharani Dharu.
The medical experts discussed the causes of kidney diseases, the impact of lifestyle, and the importance of early screening in detail. Students showed great interest and asked several important questions regarding the effect of junk food and energy drinks on kidneys, the correct intake of water, and whether mental stress or lack of sleep can cause kidney disease. Experts advised students to adopt a balanced diet and regular exercise.
