By 121 News

Bathinda, Mar.13, 2026:-  On the eve of World Kidney Day, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda, organised an awareness initiative to highlight the importance of early detection and prevention of kidney diseases. With the rising cases of kidney-related disorders due to changing lifestyles, diabetes, and high blood pressure, medical experts emphasised the need for timely screening and preventive care.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Aseem Singla consultant– nephrology and transplant physician at Max Super Speciality, Bathinda, said that kidney diseases often develop silently, and many patients remain unaware of the problem until it reaches an advanced stage. Regular health check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, and simple blood and urine tests can help detect kidney problems early and prevent serious complications. Symptoms such as swelling in the legs, changes in urination, persistent fatigue, nausea, or uncontrolled blood pressure should not be ignored, and timely consultation with a nephrologist is important for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Singla further explained that diabetes and hypertension are among the leading causes of kidney failure. People suffering from these conditions should regularly monitor their kidney function and follow their doctor's advice to reduce the risk of long-term damage. People should adopt healthy lifestyle habits such as maintaining a balanced diet, reducing salt intake, staying well hydrated, exercising regularly, and avoiding the unnecessary use of painkillers, which can harm kidney health.
