Hitanshi and Yashika steer Chandigarh to thrilling win over Hyderabad but team misses knockout berth

Chandigarh, Mar.11, 2026:-A composed half-century by Hitanshi and a calm unbeaten knock from Yashika guided Chandigarh to a dramatic three-wicket victory over Hyderabad in the Women's Under-23 One Day Trophy Elite match at Dehradun on Wednesday. However, despite the hard-fought win, Chandigarh narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout stage. The team finished the league stage with three wins from five matches, the same tally as Andhra. However, Andhra progressed to the knockout stage due to a superior net run rate,

Chasing a competitive target of 212, Chandigarh completed the chase at 212 for 7 in 49.2 overs, sealing the match in the final over of a tense contest.

Earlier, Hyderabad opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted 211 all out in 49.4 overs. The innings was anchored by V. Prathiksha (75) while skipper Vanka Pooja contributed 45. 

For Chandigarh, Parushi Prabhakar  (3/44) was the standout bowler 

In reply, Chandigarh had a shaky start with 100/5 on the board. Later Hitanshi played a brilliant knock of 51 runs  by striking nine boundaries. As the match approached a tense finish, Yashika held her nerve brilliantly as she remained unbeaten on 43. She anchored the chase and ensured Chandigarh crossed the finish line with just four balls to spare.
