Chandigarh, Feb.07, 2026:-Nishunk Birla fell short of one wicket to create history in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh by producing a memorable nine-wicket haul that kept Chandigarh firmly in the contest on the day at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur on Saturday
The Chandigarh off-spinner delivered a sensational spell and returned with figures of 9 for 110 in 34.1 overs as Uttar Pradesh were bowled out for 260 in their first innings. Birla consistently troubled the batters with his accuracy and turn as he missed out narrowly on a rare ten-wicket haul in the prestigious tournament. Meanwhile, Kavya Teotia (99) and Akshu Bajwa (91) shared a crucial 129-run partnership for Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, Chandigarh were bowled out for 170 in their first innings. UP secured the 90 runs lead in the first innings.
Later, in their second innings, Chandigarh reached 78/4 at stumps with Dushyant top-scoring with 45. Akshu Bajwa (2/19) clinched two wickets.
