Chandigarh, Feb.06, 2026:- Uttar Pradesh put themselves in a strong position on the opening day of their Col C K Nayudu Trophy match against Chandigarh at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, after restricting the visitors to 170 in their first innings and reaching 46 for 3 at stumps.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Chandigarh found scoring difficult on a disciplined Uttar Pradesh bowling display. Opener Arnav Bansal top-scored for Chandigarh with a fluent 40 while Devang Kaushik contributed 26. However, regular wickets prevented Chandigarh from building sustained partnerships, as they were bowled out in 60.3 overs.
Akshu Bajwa (6/56) was the standout performer for the home side while he was well supported by Vijay Kumar (3/51).
In reply, Uttar Pradesh ended Day 1 at 46 for 3 in 28 overs. UP is still trailing by 124 runs. Siddharth Chaudhary scored 21 runs. FOr Chandigarh, Nishunk Birla took two wickets and Aryan Duggal accounted for one.
