Ranji Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy Match and U23 ODI Team Announced

Chandigarh, Oct.12, 2024:--A magnificent century from Upendra Yadav helped Railways to recover well against UT boys which further posed a target of 341 runs to opposition on the day two of the Ranji trophy match being played at GMSSS, 26 on Saturday.

In reply to Railways' 142 in the first innings, hosts also collapsed early for 109 giving the visiting team a marginal lead of 33 runs. Raj Angad Bawa (34) was the top scorer while Akash Pandey (5/38) took five wickets. Visitors off to a cautious start in the second innings as Upendra Yadav scored 124 runs in 123 balls with the help of three sixes and 15 boundaries while Vivek Singh (54) smashed a half-century. Railways put up a mammoth of 307 runs in their second innings, giving the host team a target of 341. Nishunk Birla (4/79) took four wickets. Chandigarh lost Manan Vohra (0) with 31/1 on the board before the stumps were drawn. The team is still trailing by 310 runs.

Chandigarh lost to Goa by 40 runs in Vinoo Mankad match

Chandigarh, UT boys faced yet another defeat, this time against Goa by 40 runs in a Vinoo Mankad Trophy league match played at PCA Mullanpur. Goa won the toss and opted to bat first and scored 260/9 runs in the stipulated fifty overs wherein Aditya RK (86) was the top scorer while Nisarg Narvekar (56) and C Jeevankumar (45) added decently.  Jashan Beniwal took four wickets. In reply, despite a sensible start, the UT boys could not challenge the opposition and were restricted to 220/9. Skipper Balraj Singh (36) was the top scorer while Hrithik Sandhu scored 35 runs.

UT team announced for BCCI Under 23 ODI, Paras gets captaincy

Chandigarh, UTCA has announced the Chandigarh team for the BCCI Under 23 ODI tournament starting from Sunday. Paras will be leading the side as Chandigarh will start its campaign against Kerala on its home ground from Sunday

The squad is as follows: Paras (Captain), Arnav Bansal, Akshit Rana, Nikhil Kumar, Devang Kaushik, Sohail, Sarthak Saharan, Anmol Sharma, Ivraj Ranauta, Armaan Jakhar, Aryan Duggal, Dushshant Thamman, Harshit Saini, Gurtaj Bains, Dhananjay Sharma, Rajiv Nair (Head Coach), Amit Kumar (Manager), Dharmender Singh Rana (Assistant Coach), Ashish Awasthi (Physician), Vishal (Trainer).
