Chandigarh beat Sikkim by 62 Runs in Senior Women's T20

Chandigarh, Oct.18, 2024:--UT girls beat Sikkim in a one sided affair by 62 runs in the opening encounter of Women Seniors T20 tournament being played at Lucknow on Friday. Sikkim won the toss and decided to field first. Chandigarh scored 133/6 runs in the stipulated twenty overs wherein Monika Pandey (36) was the top scorer followed by Sarah (25). Captain Kashvee Gautam and P Guleria added 23 runs each. In reply, Sikkim was restricted to 71/6 runs as  Samyita (27) was the top scorer. .

 

Ranji Trophy match: Assam scored 249/8 against Chandigarh on Day 1

 

Chandigarh. Assam scored 249/8 against Chandigarh on the first day of the Ranji Trophy match being played at Barsapara. Hosts won the toss and decided to bat first which proved costly for the batting side as UT bowlers reduced the side at 15/2. Later, Assam was seen in recovery mode. Nishunk Birla demolished the middle order and put the team on the backfoot again. The 87-run partnership between Mukhtar Hussain and SC Ghadigaonkar saved the day for Assam as both took the score past 200. Half centuries from Hussain (55) runs and unbeaten Gadigaonkar (41) helped Assam to score 249/8 before the stumps were drawn. Sibsankar Roy added 46 runs. Birla (3/60) took three wickets while Jagjit Sandhu (2/35) clinched three.
