Sports, as a catalyst provides various skills and confidence to shape child’s personality positively

Chandigarh, Dec.28,2022:- Celebrating the 'Sahibzaade Shahidi Diwas-2022', Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organized Sports Meet of Snehalaya Children, Maloya, Chandigarh. 

While speaking on the occasion, Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR, Chandigarh highlighted that children can learn a great by following the footprints of brave Char Sahibzade. The sacrifices of Chaar Sahibzaade at a tender age gives strength to fight against oppressors and have faith in the Almighty. In present scenario, along with focusing on academic aspect, children should learn some creative skills. This will enhance their way of thinking and will give them a sense of having broader outlook towards life. Participating in sports will make them able to understand the significance of team work and sportsmanship. Children must have a feeling of patriotism to do their best for the service of humanity and country. 

Nitika Pawar, Secretary, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the Commission for organizing this event. She interacted with participants and motivated them to work hard and achieve their goals.

Children of Snehalya participated with full zeal in various sports such as 50 M Race(Junior),Lemon Race,100 M Race(Senior), Three legged Race, Sace Race, Long Jump, Relay Race. Differently abled children enthusiastically participated in 50M Race, Winners were facilitate with the trophies, certificates and drawing books containing UN Child Rights. Cultural performances were presented by the children. The Chief Guest also visited Production House at CCPCR containing beautiful artifacts made by children of Snehalaya. 

Pooja Punchhi, Member, CCPCR, Bisman, Programme Manager, UTCPS, Rajni, CS, CCWDC, Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant, CCPCR, Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Arvind K Dhawan, Senior Assistant, CCPCR,  Harpreet Singh, Resident Manager, Snehalya for Boys, Maloya, Ankita, POCSO Consultant, CCPCR, Shehkar, Clerk, CCPCR and all the staff of Snehalaya were present during this event.
