Chandigarh Sept. 19, 2021:-Chandigarh Congress party held a Youth Orientation Programme in Maloya today. Addressing a gathering of youth, CTCC President Subhash Chawla said that the faulty and anti-people policies of BJP have ruined the common man's life. The upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in Chandigarh are a chance for the residents to avenge themselves.
He highlighted BJP's lackadaisical attitude towards Chandigarh, which could be witnessed in the deteriorating conditions of the roads. Over the past five years, potholes have become a common sight in the city. The City Beautiful, once known for its cleanliness, has tumbled down in ranks. When the common man is reeling under the devastating impacts of the pandemic, the administration has increased the water tariff in the city.
Speaking on the Center's mismanagement of the economy, Manish Bansal said, Inflation has become a hallmark of this Govt. The prices of essential commodities such as petrol, diesel, LPG, edible oil, and pulses are burning a hole in people's pockets. Instead of providing a relief package to the people in these difficult times, the BJP is levying heavy taxes on them. The unemployment rates are at a 45-year high.
Moreover, the horrors of the mismanaged pandemic can never be forgotten. There was an acute shortage of medical oxygen throughout the country. Many people lost their lives due to the failure of Govt.'s systems. The migrant workers were forced to travel hundreds of kilometres on foot, with the lockdown imposed at a notice of just 4 hours. People were forced to scramble for essentials.
Demonetisation, hasty GST implementation, black farm laws, and many more anti-people policies of the BJP have ruined the lives of the people.
He further said that these Municipal elections are a chance to throw BJP out of power and bring back the Congress party, which has always stood by the people and worked towards their welfare.
The programme was organised by Secretary CTCC Dilawar Singh, Block President, Kidar Nath and Jitender Yadav. The event saw rousing Senior Congress leaders DD.jindal , Vinod Sharma, Youth Congress President Manoj lubana, Raj Pal Rana, Parikshit Rana and participation from hundreds of youth in the area.
