Chandigarh July 01, 2021:- Six major employees' federations and organizations of UT and MC Chandigarh had earlier jointly submitted a demand letter to the Chandigarh Administration on the major demands of the employees and demanded a meeting to solve the problems of the employees. Ignoring these demands, the Chandigarh Administration has not addressed the United Workers' Front for Joint demands. In view of the increasing anger among the employees of Chandigarh, a one-day hunger strike from 10 am to 4 pm in front of the Secretariat was observed today.
The Conveners of the Working Committee of Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha Gopal Dutt Joshi, Sukhbir Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Ashwini Kumar, Balwinder Singh, Bipin Sher Singh, besides state executive members Dharmendra Rahi, Ranbir Rana, Rajinder Katoch,Raghbir Chand, Raja Ram, Surmukh Singh,Ranjit Mishra,Dabkesh Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Rajinder Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Janardan yadav etc., attended the hunger strike in front of the Secretariat by the entire leadership following Covid guidelines. The other leaders associated with Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha Various employees like Ashwini Kumar, Surmukh Singh, Ravindra Bindu, Kuldeep Singh, Raja Ram, Younis, Narinder Billa, Gurmeet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Yaad Ram, Raju Chaniyane, Pramod Chanwaria, Bablu, Birla, Pramila Devi, Mohammad Salim, Shiv Murat, Vinod Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Jani Kumar, Janardan Yadav, Santi, Rahul, Rajinder Singh, Dilbar Singh, Rakesh, Andiyapan, Rajinder Singh, Deepak, Shailendra Singh, Tarnpreet Singh,Rani Devi, Ishwar Chand, Vijay Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra Rahi, Joginder Singh, Om Prakash, Bhupinder Singh, Vedpal Chahar, Karishan Rathi, Gopal Dutt Joshi, Rajinder Katoch, Gurmeet Singh, Naseeb Singh, Bihari Lal, Prem Pal, Subhash , Sohan Singh, Gurmail Singh, Chain Singh, Ranjit Mishra, Sukhbir Singh, Nirmal Singh, Surinder Singh, Tarlochan, Karamjit Singh, Deshraj, Ashok, Mahindra Singh, Satish Kumar etc. participated in the hunger strike.
Many colleagues supported this following the COVID 19 on behalf of each federation. in the interest of the employees, despite facing sugar, blood pressure and other diseases. Of various departments also observed hunger strike.
The senior retired leadership from Chandigarh administration and M.C Ranjit Hans, Manmohan Singh,Bhim Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Khushali ram, Harjinder Singh, Surinder Sharma break open the Hunger Strike by offering juice at the end of Hunger Strike.
The joint demands include regularization policy of contract employees in Chandigarh and Municipal Corporation and equal pay- equal work for outsourcing workers, non-removal of existing workers in GeM portal for all categories of outsourcing employees, Regularisation of daily wagers by covering in policy of 13.3.15,Ban on privatization of public sector like electricity, transport and health, job to the kin of deceased employees by abolishing 5% ceiling on Punjab pattern, restoration of old pension scheme, filling up of vacant posts, increase in DA and DC rates, Allotment of housing accommodation to the successful candidates of the housing scheme, implementation of all service rules and conditions of the state of Punjab as per 13.1.92 notification of Government of India, Pension to Housing Board employees etc.
Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha UT and MC Chandigarh also warned the administration to intensify their struggle and dharna demonstration will be held on 10.08.2021, if the demands will not resolve through proper negotiation with the Morcha before the said date.
