CII Delegation Calls on Governor

Chandigarh 28^th June:- CII delegation led by Rumjhum Chatterjee, first woman Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Group Managing Director, HCD, Feedback Infra Ltd, met with H E Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Haryana, Punjab & Administrator, U T Chandigarh at Haryana Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh, today.

Interacting with the CII delegation,HE Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Haryana, Punjab & Administrator, U T Chandigarh highly appreciated CII's role in socio economic ecosystem of the region and in ensuring that the industry and societal balance continues to be vibrant and value accretive.

The visit was aimed to further strengthen CII's connect with the government and administration in terms of its CII Chandigarh's objectives for 2016-17 namely smart city project, City Connect Forum, start-ups, entrepreneurial development, education & skill development, healthcare, ease of doing business and socio economic initiatives.

CII already has a MoU with Chandigarh Administration for smart city and the process will further rollout once the Chandigarh SPV is in place. CII reaffirms its complete commitment to Chandigarh Administration to work together & ensure that Chandigarh becomes the 'Smartest City' in India & later on in the world.  

Rumjhum Chatterjee apprised that CII has been instrumental in establishing City-Connect forum in several cities, including Bangalore, Chennai, Pune etc.  City-connect forums are industry led initiatives where prominent citizens of the city are brought on a common platform to help and support urban local bodies and municipal commission in planning, execution and monitoring of projects as well as delivery of services and is keen to establish the Chandigarh City Connect Forum.

Later in the day the CII delegation also met Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, U T Chandigarh to discuss how CII could facilitate administration in their various developmental initiatives.

The delegation included Dr Dinesh Dua, Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council & CEO & Director, Nectar Life sciences Ltd, Rohit Grover, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council & Director, JREW Engineering Ltd, Babu Khan, Regional Director, CII Northern Region and Navdeep Kaur, Head, CII Chandigarh.
