Chandigarh 27th January:- On the occasion of Republic Day Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director PGI congratulated the audience and said, that it is his pleasure to inform them that PGIMER is becoming more and more popular as a public hospital for excellent health care as daily the hospital is rendering service to 10,000 patients both in the OPDs and emergency. Our faculty and resident doctors are serving patients till late evening and despite that participating actively in research activities.
Prof. Chawla expressed his gratitude to the NGOs Red Cross, Lifeline, Sewa Bharti, Cancer Sahayta Sahyog; philanthropic citizens and media organizations for donating in cash and kind to the poor patients of PGI.
Earlier Prof. Chawla unfurled the national flag at PGIMER and celebrated the Republic Day along with the faculty, nursing, administrative and other staff. All the senior officers of the Institute attended the Republic Day function. Patriotic songs were sung by the Nursing staff and sweets were distributed amongst the employees by the Director. Prof. Chawla with great pride enumerated also shares the developments in the Institute.
Prof. Chawla has been bestowed with Padam Shri 2015 by Govt. of India.
