CGC Jhanjeri Students Designed Unique Flyover

By 121 News Reporter

Mohali 31st January:- Civil Engineering students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, Mohali carried out a survey of the traffic on the square at Landran crossing during peak hours including four hours each in the morning & evening times. Based on this survey, they found that the traffic density is maximum on Monday mornings and Friday evenings.  To solve such traffic jam problem, students designed a unique flyover for this crossing. This signal free flyover will provide a corridor for the commuters of Mohali, Banur, Kharar & Jhanjeri. The designers of this flyover claim that with this flyover, traffic density will reduce to just 10% of the present density.

Landran square is these days experiencing a severe traffic jam mainly due to a large number of colleges and dwelling units which have come up in this area. Students & office goers generally get held up in this jam almost every day and a large number of traffic police persons remain on their toes to regulate the traffic on this square. The students of CGC, Jhanjeri have designed this flyover which is a permanent solution to traffic jams.

Commenting on this project, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC told that the management always provides full moral & financial support to its students for preparing projects of practical utility and benefit for the society.
