Sikh Educational Society Start Hariawal Campaign

Chandigarh 19th August:--With the aim to improve environment conditions and make surroundings clean and green, Hariawal Campaign was inaugurated by the President S.Gurdev Singh, IAS(Retd.) with Executive Members of Sikh Educational Society and Principals of local institutions at its Chandigarh Campus. This campaign is just one step of revolution to save our mother Earth. The theme of campaign was birds live in concert at our nearest tree and to be a part of nature tree plantation was motivated by President, SES S. Gurdev Singh, IAS (Retd.)

Sikh Educational Society plans to plant more than 100 saplings at all its four educational institutions at Chandigarh in this season, said Col. (Retd.) J.S.Bala, Secretary, SES. Further Col. Bala Stressed upon continuous care and effort will be provided to these plants, So that our environment will get new trees in next few years and motivated students of all institutions to plant more and more trees. Sapling was done by Er.S.S. Virdi, Executive Member-SES, Prof. H.S.Sohi, Principal SGGS College, Dr Charanjit Kaur Sohi, Principal GGS College for Women.

Principal H.S.Sohi said that Life without Trees is like a college without students. About two hundred students participated in the tree plantation campaign. Dr Charanjit Kaur Sohi, Principal GGS College for Women said that you will find something more in woods than in books. Trees can teach you that which you can never learn from formal education.
