Despite Water Problem, Water will be supplied to the residents of SAS Nagar: DC Sidhu

Mohali 27th August:-- Pipe line from Kajouli water works has been damaged, but despite this problem, there will be no shortage of water supply in SAS Nagar and 100 water tankers will supply potable water to the people every day. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, during an emergency meeting with officials, which was called at district administrative complex, to counter the burning issue of water supply.

Deputy Commissioner said that Booster has been established at phase 10 to provide water supply to affected areas and Sh. Gurprakash Singh, (98725-19223) SDE Public Health has been deputed as a Nodal officer. Besides this. Jagjit Singh, (98780-81613) SDE and Charanjit Singh (97790-80352) JE has also been deputed to handle the situation effectively. In case of complaint and regarding requirement of water tanker, anybody can contact on these numbers from 6 am to 10 pm. These officers have been instructed to remain in touch with people regarding regular supply of water.

Deputy Commissioner said that the entire affected area has been divided in to 12 sectors & officers have been deputed accordingly to ensure efficient supply of water. Balwinder Singh (90410-49763) has been deputed for sector 70, Satish Rattan (97791-58753) for sector 71, Surinder Singh (95017-00747) for phase 9, Kuldeep Singh (95010-23274) for phase 10, B. M. Soni (98156-00798) for phase 11, Charanjit Singh (97790-80352) for Industrial Area phase 1,2,3,4 & 5 and village Shahi Majra & Balwinder Singh (90410-49763) has been deputed for village Matour.

Keeping in view, the hot weather conditions & coming festive season of Sri Krishna Janamhastmi, Deputy Commissioner directed the Public Health Officials to ensure proper & continuous water supply to affected areas. It is worth mentioning at here, due to damage in water pipe line from kajouli, water supply in various areas of the city has been affected. The affected areas are sector 70, 71, phase 9, 10 & 11, Industrial area phase 1 to 5, village shahi majra & matour. Deputy Commissioner directed the public health officials to work round the clock on war front, so that water supply may continue to these affected areas at earliest. Deputy Commissioner said that, although the water supply through pipe line will get resumed till Thursday evening, even than water will be supplied continuously through water tankers till Sunday evening. He also appealed to public & department officials to use water properly & also directed to not to waste the water at any cost.
