80th Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotism and Enthusiasm at CGC University Mohali

Mohali, 15 August, 2026:-The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotism, pride and a deep sense of national responsibility at CGC University, Mohali. The university community came together to honour the nation’s journey, celebrate its remarkable progress and reaffirm its collective commitment towards building a strong and progressive India.

Major General Ajay Sood (Retd.) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, making the celebrations even more special and inspiring. The ceremony commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony. As the Tricolour soared high in the sky, a deep sense of pride filled the hearts of everyone present, reminding them of the sacrifices that paved the way for the country’s freedom. Following the flag hoisting, an impressive parade was presented by the NCC cadets, who marched with discipline, determination and precision. Their synchronised movements reflected the values of courage, discipline and service, which form the foundation of responsible citizenship.

Addressing the gathering, CGC University, Mohali Managing Director Arsh Dhaliwal inspired the students to recognise their role in shaping the future of the nation. Chancellor Rachpal Singh Dhaliwal urged the students to acquire knowledge, uphold integrity, foster a spirit of innovation and make meaningful contributions towards the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He further emphasised that the celebration serves as a reminder that freedom is not merely a historic achievement but an enduring responsibility. It inspires every citizen, particularly the youth, to transform opportunities into progress and contribute towards the nation’s growth. The celebrations concluded on a patriotic note, instilling renewed enthusiasm among the university community to uphold and advance the values of freedom, unity and service.
