Mohali, June 11, 2026:-A special series of environmental conservation and awareness activities was organized at the campus of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Phase 2, to connect students with nature and make them realize their responsibility toward the environment. This commendable initiative was undertaken by the NCC cadets of GJIMT in collaboration with the institute’s 'Eco Club' to promote sustainable living practices.
Under this campaign, a special awareness seminar was conducted, which focused on daily responsibilities, ecological balance, and the conservation of natural resources. Students were sensitized about the crucial role of plants in human life and the importance of keeping the Earth green for future generations.
During the seminar, students were provided practical insights into proper plant care, including timely watering, soil management, adequate sunlight exposure, and the use of organic fertilizers. Simultaneously, to make the campus and its surroundings healthier, special emphasis was laid on reducing plastic use, adopting biodegradable alternatives, and maintaining cleanliness.
A guided tour of the institute’s lush green campus was also organized for the students. During the tour, they were introduced to various plant species and encouraged to maintain the greenery and cleanliness of the campus.
Addressing the students on the occasion, Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director of GJIMT, said that Protecting nature is our collective responsibility. Through such activities, our endeavor is to instill environmental sensitivity and the values of a green future in the minds of students, so that they can bring about a positive change in society.
