By 121 News

Khanna, June 11, 2026:-A patient with an exceptionally large uterus equivalent to a 22–24 week pregnancy underwent a successful complex total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) at Livasa Hospital Khanna recently.

Dr. Manju Verma, consultant obstetrician & gynecologist, Livasa Hospital Khanna, who performed the procedure said that the patient was suffering from severe menstrual bleeding, persistent pelvic pain, and a significantly enlarged uterus, which was adversely impacting her quality of life.

Given the size of the uterus and the complexity involved, the case posed significant surgical challenges, informed Dr. Verma.

The entire procedure was completed laparoscopically, avoiding the need for a large abdominal incision, she said.

Dr. Verma further said that large uterine fibroids can significantly affect a woman's health and daily life. Traditionally, patients with such large uteri often required open surgery and prolonged recovery. With advancements in minimally invasive gynecological surgery, many complex cases can now be managed laparoscopically, allowing patients to experience less pain, faster recovery, reduced blood loss, and earlier return to normal activities.
