Sonipat, May 11, 2026:- An extremely rare male breast cancer patient was successfully operated upon by Dr. AK Arun Dhankhar , senior general & laparoscopic surgeon and his team at Park Nidaan Hospital, Sonipat.

The patient was suffering from chest lumps, swelling and pain for some time. Initially, he ignored it as a normal problem, but when the problem worsened, he was found to have breast cancer.

Dr. Arun Dhankhar said that people usually associate breast cancer only with women whereas men can also develop the disease. However, the disease is extremely rare in men and only about 1% of total breast cancer cases are found in men, he informed.

He further said that timely diagnosis and proper treatment led to a successful outcome of surgery. The patient is now healthy.

According to Dr. Dhankhar, due to lack of awareness, men often ignore the early symptoms, which can lead to the disease taking a serious turn.

He urged to seek specialist advice immediately if someone noticed any lump, swelling, persistent pain in the chest, discharge from the nipples or changes in the skin. The successful treatment of early stage cancer is possible, Dr. Dhankhar opined.
