Chandigarh, Apr. 14, 2026:-MY Bharat Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in association with Yuva Stambh Youth Club, successfully organised a commemorative programme to mark the 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
The programme was conducted in alignment with the nationwide observance of Ambedkar Jayanti.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 110 youth and community members. A key highlight of the programme was a seminar on the life and teachings of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, where speakers emphasized his contributions towards social justice, equality, and the Indian Constitution.
To encourage creative expression among youth, a poster-making competition was organised, reflecting themes of equality, empowerment, and constitutional values. Participants also actively engaged in signing a pledge wall, committing themselves to uphold and practice the principles of Dr. Ambedkar in their daily lives.
The programme concluded with a Shramdaan (cleanliness drive) in the locality, reinforcing the spirit of community service and civic responsibility.
The event was overseen by Mohan Rajput, MY Bharat Volunteer, and Sh. Upender Maurya, Founder of Yuva Stambh Youth Club, whose guidance ensured smooth execution of all activities.
The initiative successfully fostered awareness among youth about the enduring legacy of Babasaheb and inspired them to contribute towards building an inclusive and equitable society.
