Army Service Corps Thrash Artillery 12–5, GB Legends win Sudden Death Thriller over Haryana

Chandigarh, Apr.02, 2026:-Army Service Corps registered a convincing 12–5 victory over Artillery in a one-sided match on the fifth day of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Tournament being organised by the Indian Polo Association in collaboration with the Chandigarh Polo Association at the Polo Club on Thursday.

Artillery entered the arena with a two-goal advantage, but Col Yatinder struck early to set the tone for Army Service Corps. He was well supported by Sepoy Ravinder Singh, who scored twice to give ASC a 3–2 lead. In the second chakkar, ASC dominated proceedings as Sepoy Mukesh Gujar and Sepoy Ravinder Singh added more goals to extend the lead to 6–2.

Artillery tried to fight back with two well-scored goals by Irfan Khan with assistance from Captain Prince Pal. Gunner Uday later converted a penalty to make it 8–5 and briefly bring Artillery back into the contest. However, Army Service Corps maintained control in the final stages and went on to seal a comfortable 12–5 win.

In the second game of the day, GB Legends Chandigarh maintained their winning streak and outclassed Haryana in a nail-biting sudden death finish by winning 10–9. Haryana entered the arena with a five-goal advantage which was quickly neutralized by Dilpreet Singh Sidhu and Lt Col Vishal Chauhan who scored two goals each and left the score at 6–5 in Haryana's favour.

The visiting team fought back strongly in the second chakkar with brilliant play from the duo of Deepak Walia and Jitender Rathore and  levelled the score at 7–7 by the end of the second chakkar. The third chakkar saw the match intensify further and Naveen Singh converted a penalty into a goal in the final minute of play to make it 9–9.

The result was decided in sudden death in the fourth chakkar wherein Naveen Singh scored the winning goal in the first minute of play to seal a thrilling victory for GB Legends Chandigarh.
