Chandigarh, April 14, 2026:-On the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chandigarh organized a grand, well-coordinated, and high-energy event at its party office in Sector 39. The massive gathering of party workers and supporters turned the occasion into a powerful show of strength, where a collective pledge was taken to protect the Constitution and uphold social justice.
The Chief Guest, Jasvir Singh Garhi (Chairman, Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission), delivered a powerful and thought-provoking address, reflecting on the history of social discrimination and the struggles of Baba Saheb. He stated:
"There was a time when boards reading ‘Indians and Dogs Not Allowed’ were displayed at public places, and large sections of society were denied access to temples and even basic resources like wells. It was Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar who, without any weapons, used the power of education, intellect, and struggled to break these unjust systems and gave millions the right to live with dignity.”
He further cautioned that society must remain vigilant and united against forces attempting to weaken the Constitution.
Through this event, the party conveyed a strong message of its growing grassroots presence and expanding support base across both urban and rural areas. The program was successfully led by Deshraj Sanawar (President, SC Wing), under whose leadership a large number of supporters participated enthusiastically.
On this occasion, Vijaypal Singh and Omkar Singh Aulakh emphasized that education and healthcare are the true tributes to Baba Saheb,” highlighting that governments led by Arvind Kejriwal have delivered historic work in these sectors, setting an example for the nation.
The event showcased strong unity and organizational strength within the party. Prominent leaders present included Hardeep Buterla (Leader of Opposition), Yogesh Dhingra (Chief Spokesperson), Kuldeep Dhalor (Former Mayor), Vikrant A Tanwar (State Media In-charge), Prem Garg (Former President), Anju Katyal (Councillor), Meena Sharma, Jagpal Singh (President, Rural Wing), Lalit Mohan, Ajit, Shishupal, and Tarsem Mittal, among other senior leaders, councillors, and party workers.
