Chandigarh, Feb.13, 2026:-Chandigarh bowlers Jaskirat Singh Mehra and Nishunk Birla shared seven wickets to wrap up Uttarakhand for 334 on Day 1 of their Elite Group clash in the Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy at the Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh.
After Uttarakhand elected to bat, the visitors recovered from an early loss to post a competitive total of 334 in 74.3 overs. Skipper Harsh Rana led from the front with a fluent 77 (93 balls, 11 fours, 1 six), while Devansh provided late fireworks with a counter-attacking 93 off 81 deliveries, smashing six fours and six sixes. Valuable contributions from Shivansh (39) and D P Singh (46) strengthened the innings.
However, Chandigarh struck back through disciplined bowling in the latter half of the innings. Nishunk Birla was outstanding, claiming 4 for 90 in 24.3 overs and breaking key partnerships at crucial intervals. Jaskirat Singh Mehra complemented him brilliantly, returning figures of 3 for 78 in 18 overs, including important breakthroughs in the middle order. Their combined effort ensured Uttarakhand were prevented from stretching the total further despite a strong platform.
In reply, Chandigarh made a steady start, reaching 43 without loss in 13 overs at stumps. Openers Dushyant (30* off 43 balls) and Dipender Kush (9* off 35 balls) negotiated the new ball carefully, adding an unbeaten 43-run stand. Chandigarh now trail by 291 runs heading into Day 2.
With wickets in hand and a solid opening partnership laid, Chandigarh will aim to build momentum on the second day, while Uttarakhand will look for early breakthroughs to maintain pressure in this four-day encounter.
