Chandigarh, Dec.07, 2025:-Gujarat produced a composed batting performance to reach 306/6 at stumps on Day 1 against Chandigarh in the Vijay Merchant Trophy Elite (U16) match being played at Shimoga (Karnataka) on Sunday.. Opting to bat first, Gujarat's opener Shaurya Prajapati (47) set the tone with a positive start while middle-order batter Vansh Shah compiled a steady 52. The standout performance came from Aarav Kothari, who remained unbeaten 87 off 135 balls featured by 11 boundaries and one six. He stitched an invaluable 89-run partnership with unbeaten Ridham Patel (26), steering Gujarat to a strong position before stumps.
UT bowlers worked hard as Ishant Rawat (3/70) and Yashjeet Singh (2/52) took the maximum share of the wickets.
