Chandigarh, April 22, 2025:- In a landmark collaboration, CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India and Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Chandigarh had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bridge modern biomedical engineering with traditional Ayurvedic science on the closing day of the National Symposium - Samvaya 2025 organised under the aegis of Golden Jubilee of college on Tuesday. The Mou was signed between Prof Shantanu Bhattacharya, Director, CSIO-CSIR, Chandigarh and Dr Sumt Srivastava, Principal, SDACH, Chandigarh
This partnership will foster joint research initiatives, facilitate exchange of faculty and students and enable co-development of AI-enabled, non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic tools. Both institutions will share expertise, conduct clinical trials and validations and collaborate on scientific publications and intellectual property with joint ownership.
The MoU also supports academic exchanges, co-supervision of PG/Ph.D. scholars and the creation of joint study programs.
The valedictory function was attended by Vaidya Jayant Deopujari, Chairperson, NCISM, New Delhi as the Chief Guest. while Dr. A. K. Attri, Director Principal, GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh; Vaidya Sreenivasa Prasad Buduru, President, Board of Ayurveda, NCISM, New Delhi; Vaidya Rakesh Sharma, President, Board of Ethics and Registration, NCISM, New Delhi and Vaidya Anil Bharadwaj, President, Vaidya Maha Sabha, Chandigarh as Guest of Honour who also released the Sukhayu magazine souvenir,
Earlier in the day, experts deliberate on blending modern and traditional health care approaches. Dr. Renjith R. Pillai, Additional Professor, PGI, Chandigarh spoke on Multi Disciplinary to Trans Disciplinary approach in mental health while Dr. Amit Laddi, Sr. Principal Scientist at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, presented on biomedical engineering and Ayurvedic device innovations. Dr. Mahesh S, Research Officer, Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Patiala, shared new Ayurveda research. Dr. Astha Chaudhry, Professor from SGT University, Gurugram, spoke on integrated teaching methods. Dr. Vimal Arora,Associate Director and Professor, Chandigarh University, highlighted medicine safety. Dr. Shilpa Hastir, Pathologist from Jiyo Diagnostic Lab, Chandigarh, discussed advanced integrative diagnostic methods.
Dr Sagarika Purohit, Dr Kajal, Dr Rahul Jha, Dr Monika Kaushik, Dr Zhillika, Dr Shebeena PV and Dr Priyanka Pradhan were felicitated for the best paper awards.
Earlier on Monday evening, Chief Guest Anuradha Chagti, Secretary, Social Justice, UT graced the occasion at RHYTHM, annual function program wherein students presented the cultural program.
