Chhattisgarh Manage to Draw against Chandigarh with a Thrilling End

Chandigarh, Dec.24, 2024:--  The last wicket 4 runs off 35 balls partnership between Yathartha Chauhan and Shreya Agarwal saved the day for Chattisgarh as the team managed to draw against UT boys in a thrilling end at the Vijay Merchant Trophy being played at Shimoga (Karnataka) on Tuesday.

Earlier, in reply to Chandigarh's 250 runs, Chhattisgarh collapsed at 174 runs which gave UT boys a lead of 76 runs. Later, Chandigarh declared its innings after scoring 181 runs for nine wickets to pose a target of 258 runs. Akul Bhanot (64) and Abhay Gulia (51) scored half centuries while Vedant Jain took four wickets.

 Parth (3/36) demolished the top order - Aditya Verma (0), captain Amay More (5) and Aditya Guha (0) when Chattisgarh resumed its second innings. Thereafter, Kabir dismissed Manas Mulchandani  with 12/4 on the board. Vedansh Khedia was vital in two partnerships -  52 runs with Aryan Singh and 55 runs with Gunwant Awasthi to recover this team. The match turned the UT side with the dismissal of  Aryan Singh (23) and Gunwant Awasthi (34), but Vedansh continued to hold the fort. Later, Akul Bhanot bowled out  Rudra Shukla while Ranvir Ahuja ended the valint knock of Vedansh Khedia (47 runs off 150).  Akul (2/9) made Vedant Jain his second victim and almost got the match in Chandigarh's favour. But Shreya and Yatharth delayed the second win for Chandigarh in the tournament as the match ended in a draw. Chandigarh's next match is scheduled against Himachal Pradesh on December 30.
