Rs 1,50,000 of LR Mundra Memorial Scholarship Given to Bhavika Saini

Rupnagar, October 10, 2024:--Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.) today in the presence of the management committee of this institution at Saini Bhawan, presented a cheque of Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand of the second year LR Mundra Memorial Scholarship to Bhavika Saini, who is doing research in Earth and Environmental Science at Eicher Bhopal from Panchkula Haryana, to continue her fourth year of studies. Last year also this student was given a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand.

Saini Charitable Education Trust L R Mundra Memorial Scholarship Every year as per the wishes of its donor late Shri L R Mundra, this award is given to a student of the community from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh, who will study in a top research institute of the country. The student is selected by a committee of 5 members, which includes two highly educated expert members from outside. The donor has deposited Rs 70 lakh with the trust for this scholarship. Bhavika Saini said that this effort of the trust has been started with the aim of raising the name of the society by getting higher education in various fields. It is highly commendable that the donor has encouraged the students of the community towards education and she will fulfill the wishes of the trust. Speaking on the occasion, Trust Chairman Balbir Singh Saini, President Rajinder Saini, Secretary Amarjit Singh, Advocate Ravinder Singh remembered the social service of the donor of this scholarship late Shri L. R Mundra and hoped that the beneficiary of the scholarship started by him will fulfill the sentiments of the donor.  On this occasion, trustees and members of the management committee Dr. Harcharan Das Sir, Bahadurjit Singh, Rajiv Saini, Gurmukh Singh Saini, Gurmukh Singh Longia, Ram Singh Saini, Rajinder Singh Giran, Engr. Harjeet Singh Saini, Jagdev Singh, Daljit Singh, Surinder Singh, Hardeep Singh etc were also present.

It is worth noting that L R Mundhra Memorial Scholarship was started in the year 2016-17 and under this scholarship, till now 7 students studying in various high quality research institutes of the country have received scholarship amount of Rs 24,50,000/- till the year 2024.  Under these scholarships, Parpinder Singh, a resident of Garhshanker was awarded Rs.5 lakh to pursue MD (Medicine) from Daya Nand Medical College, Ludhiana, Sukhpal Singh of village Khanpur (Chamkaur Sahib) was awarded Rs.6 lakh to pursue MBA from Ahmedabad, Sarvesh Saini of Bhawani (Haryana) was awarded Rs.3 lakh for PhD in Rheutics from IIT Roorkee, Sweta Saini of Amritsar was awarded Rs.4.5 lakh to pursue BS-MS in Biology from IISER Mohali, Adiaveer Singh of Rupnagar was awarded Rs.1.5 lakh to pursue PhD from IIT Rupnagar, Ramanpreet Kaur of Nora (Nawanshahr) was awarded Rs.1.5 lakh to pursue research in Chemistry from IISER Mohali and Bhavika Saini of Panchkula was awarded Rs.3 lakh for pursuing research in Science Earth and Environment from IISER Bhopal.
