Chandigarh July 30, 2021:- Vishvas Foundation and Market Dealers Association Sector 18D jointly organized a blood donation camp in Market Sector 18D today. This camp was organized in front of the State Bank of India in the market. The camp was organized to meet the shortage of blood in the hospitals of Tricity due to the Corona epidemic. Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch Chandigarh played an important role in this camp. Special care was taken in the camp for social distancing, masks and sanitisation. 21 blood donors donated blood to save the lives of others.
General Secretary of Vishvas Foundation, Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas said that the team of Blood Bank PGI Chandigarh collected blood in the camp under the supervision of Dr. Deepika. A free ear, nose and throat check-up camp was also organized by Dr. Lovkesh Mittal from Excel ENT Center VIP Road Zirakpur today. In this camp, 26 people got their ears, nose and throat checked. The camp was inaugurated by the Mr. Anil Agarwal, General Secretary, Market Dealers Association Sector 18D.
Anil Agarwal said that blood donation is a great donation and there is no substitute for blood nor can it be made artificially. In the past, there were many misconceptions like blood donation, weakness in the body and disease, but today these misconceptions have been dispelled and our youth are donating blood in large numbers.
All the blood donors who came to the blood donation camp were encouraged by giving appreciation letters, masks, soaps and gifts. Rakesh Kumari, Avinash Sharma, Virender Gandhi, Vikas Kalia, Shatrughan Kumar, Neeraj Yadav, doctors of Vishal Kunwar Blood Bank and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
