Chandigarh May 11, 2021:-The Manimajra Block Congress Committee, today organised a dharna on second consecutive day against BJP led Municipal Corporation chandigarh . The Congress workers staged a sit-in outside the office of the Municipal Corporation located in Manimajra against the 300% increase in water tarrifs. On Tuesday, the second day, block president Sanjay Bhajani, Rameshwar Giri, Surjeet Dhillon, and Sanjeev Gaba, made sit five Congress workers Arun Kumar, Bua Singh, Rais Ahmed, Harish Kumar, Shyam Lal Mod & garlanded them for taking up people's cause .The dharna started at 9 am and lasted till 2 pm .
At this occasion, former deputy mayor and chief spokesperson of Chandigarh Congress Harmohinder Singh Lucky and youth congress leader Karanbir Singh Kannu reached the spot & garlanded them & offered them juice after the dharna ended.
Speaking on the occasion Harmohinder Singh Lucky said that they have voiced the concern of the people, during the Corona period & appreciated the Manimajra Block Congress who has launched a campaign to reduce the rates of water increased by the Municipal Corporation. This campaign will continue in the coming days as well. The congress party will continue to raise the voice of the people of Chandigarh till the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation withdraws its Nadir Shahi decree to increase water rates by 300 to 400 percent.
