Chandigarh Nov. 11, 2020:- On the call given by the UT Powermen UT Chandigarh by the Electricity Employees of Chandigarh under the banner of UT Powermen Union Boycott Duties in Second day also and held protest demonstration before the various electricity offices. The call for Boycott work given against the decision of Chandigarh Administration to privatize the well running and the profit making UT Electricity Department Chandigarh for which Chandigarh Administration started bidding process to sell 100% share to the private bidders violating all the rules regulations as well as the provision of Electricity Act, 2003. Beside various guidelines and proceeding so Joint Electricity Regulation Commission.
The protest demonstration held before the various office were addressed by various leaders of the Unions amongst them Dhian Singh, President Gopal Dutt Joshi, General Secretary, Amrik Singh, Darshan Singh, Kashmir Singh, Daler Singh, Ranjit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mangal Singh, Rajinder Thakur, Tilak Raj, Lakhwinder Singh and other leaders of the Union beside the leaders of federation including Bhem Sen, Harkesh Chand, Harpal Singh, Rajinder Katoch, Bihari Lal, Ram Swaroop and other leaders of the federation.
Vide addressing the protest the leaders blame the Government of India and Chandigarh Administration for 100% privatization of the profit making Department of UT Chandigarh and said that while transferring the department the Administration even violated the constitution of provisions as well as service conditions which were state away given to the hands of private money monkers.
The leaders warned that if the Chandigarh Administration not revert his decision to privatized the Electricity Department and process of bidding system will not be withdrawn then Union will held a massive dharna on 12.11.2020 before the electricity office new power house and boycott the special duties on Diwali. Thereafter, One day complete strike in all the shifts will be observe on 26.11.2020 for which Union have submitted notice to the Adviser Home Secretary, Chief Engineer and other concerned and blame that the Administration will fully responsible for any inconvenience to the Public due to strike.
