Chandigarh, 31st Jan, 2020:- North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) organises Ballet "Meera" by Smt. Anu Sinha Kathak Exponent from Jaipur Gharana on January 31,2020 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.
On the beautiful evening, the members of the foundation for Krishna Kala Kendra & Education Society are fortunate and proud to present a Dance Drama Meera. The founder of the society, renowned Kathak exponent Smt. Anu Sinha is a disciple of Pt. Rajendra Gangani ji and hails from the Jaipur Gharana. She has for more than 10 years been giving Kathak 'Taleem' to more than a thousand students. Smt. Anu Sinha ji has extensively performed both in India and abroad. Some iconic productions are: - 'Kaamyani' ; 'Dhruvswamini' ; 'Draupadi' ; 'Krishna', 'Shiv Ganga' etc .
Today's Presentation idolizes Meera Bai. Meera Bai has forever stood for selfless devotion and love towards deity. The other artists who participated in this Ballet are Priti Saraswat, Ashi Saraswat, Jaismeen, Vrindha Sharma, Naveen, Atul, Raghav, Lakshman, Brijesh, Nitika, Sakshi, Binni, Priya, Samita, Somya, Bhavya, Samriti, Bhumika, Aditi .
The Chief Guest on the said occasion was Sh. Deepak Bali and Guest of Honour Prof. Arun Mishra of Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar. The Chief Guest honoured Smt. Anu Sinha and other artists with memento in the presence of Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, NZCC, Patiala and Chairman, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Kamal Arora and other distinguished guests present on the said occasion.
Under this series, Padma Shri Shekhar Sen ji will present his solo play Sat Guru Kabir Sahib at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh at 6:30 pm. The Chief Guest will be VP Singh Badnaur, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of U.T. Chandigarh.
