Chandigarh 11th October:- Research Promotion Cell (RPC) of Panjab University, Chandigarh initiated a Research Capacity Building lecture series specifically for Research Scholars of the University. The overall aim of this series is to develop all-round capability of research scholars as well as understanding and solving their research related issues.
The first lecture series, attended by faculty and research scholars from all disciplines, was presided over by Professor Arun Kumar Grover, the Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University. Professor Grover emphasized the role of such events for enhancing the reputation of Panjab University as an eminent global varsity. He also underlined the importance of research scholars' role in promoting the environment of research and innovation in the University as well as adjoining areas.
On this occasion, Professor O.P. Katare, Director, RPC and Professor, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences presented a motivating talk entitled, "Excellence in Research and Innovation, Looking beyond the Science". He presented a case study of how his research work could lead to a technology development product in Panjab University and emphasized on the role of meditation for achieving success in life in general and research in specific.
It was followed by an inspirational talk given by Professor Emeritus Jitendra Mohan Department of Psychology who discussed his cutting edge research on excellence. His talk was based on the real life stories which inspired the research scholars and students. This event was coordinated by Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, Department of Chemistry. The Research Promotion Cell plans to augment such activities promoting the research culture in Panjab University in future.
