Trailer and Poster of Punjabi Film ‘Vaapsi’ Released

Chandigarh 11^th April:- Punjabi cinema is touching new heights this year. In the field of subject and technique here comes 'Vaapsi' which has the potential to make it higher. The film is slated to be released on 3^rd June this year. The trailer and poster of the film were released here today. On this occasion, producer Lakhwinder Shabla, director Rakesh Kumar Mehta, actors Harish Verma, Gulshan Grover, Sameksha, Ashish Duggal, MD of Speed Records Satwinder Kohli and known film distributor Munish Sahni were present.

While talking about the film, Harish Verma said that this film of Miraj Ventures and Speed Records has been produced by Lakhwinder Shabla, Shailly Arya and Jagmohan Arora and he is playing a different character altogether. He is a hockey player who meets awkward circumstances in his life and is forced to leave his house to settle abroad. According to Harish the film has got a different flavour and will certainly woo the audience.

Playing an important charcter in the film, Gulshan Grover will be seen in a Punjabi flick after a long time. He is playing an Indian individual who settles abroad. Away from his Bollywood villain image, audiences will see him as an ordinary man in this film. He said that after a long time he is doing role in Punjabi film. It's a home coming for him. He said that when he listened the story of the movie, he immediately gave his consent that he will definitely do the film. The story and its idea touch his heart.

Director Rakesh Mehta said that there was a time when thousands of Punjabi youngsters fell prey to terrorism and police's atrocity and had no option other than leaving the country. The film talks about some serious and important aspects of that time. Rakesh himself has written the screenplay and story of the film. Film's story is related to the soil of Punjab. Ashish Duggal, who is playing important characters in many Punjabi films these days, is also a part of Vaapsi. He told he is playing a police officer.

Known for her innings in South Indian cinema, Bollywood and of course Pollywood, actress Sameksha Singh is playing Harish's sister in the film. Some happening with her character changes the direction of the story. Producer of the film Lakhwinder Shabla resides in Germany and is also playing a character in the film. Other actors from the film are Deep Mandeep, Dhriti Saharan, Gurinder Makna and Karan Singh
