6099 Patients Diagnosed Through Drug De-addiction Centres in the District: Mangat

Chandigarh 11th April:- Each & every effort will be done for complete eradication of drugs from the district. Campaign initiated by State Govt. against drugs is getting a huge response in the entire state. Drugs spoil a person's social & financial life. Stating this Deputy Commissioner D.S.Mangat said that approximate 6099 drug victims have been diagnosed through various drug de-addiction centres established in the district. Deputy Commissioner said that Rehabilitation centre worth Rs. 3 crore 5 lacs will be a blessing for the district. He said that this rehabilitation centre is equipped with all modern facilities which comprise 5 wards. This centre is having 5 doctor room, one Isolation room, Recreation room, manager room, social worker room, supervisor room, kitchen & dining room & also having gymnasium facility. He said that vocational training will be provided to drug victims after treatment through this rehabilitation centre so that they could become self independent and could be able live normal life. He said that we all should come together and should join hands for complete eradication of drugs from the society and to help in making a healthy society.

 Deputy Commissioner said that District Police & Administration has started a special campaign against drug menace in the district wherein doctors form health department create awareness among general public regarding drugs and their ill effects. Besides this public is also being educated to inform about drug peddlers and drug victims. Deputy Commissioner urged that any person found alleged in drugs should be brought to the drug de-addiction centre so that he could be able to live his normal life after treatment.
