Chandigarh 04th December:- Inaugurating the 13th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit at New Delhi, Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi said that the country is well on its way on the path of success. He said that in the present global scenario, India is the fastest growing economy. The growth has been evident in the surveys released by the World Bank. He praised Odissa, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh for their impressive rankings in these surveys. He said that in the current scenario, execution remains the key to success for a government.

Narendra Modi said that a stable government is a boon in itself. Hence the credit for all the good work that has been carried out by the government, rests with the people for choosing this government. He further said that the onus of development now lies with the central and the state governments. It is only when the two forces collaborate; it would lead to 'wholesome' development.

In his speech, Narendra Modi stressed on the need to promote exports from the country. He said that India is known to most of the world because of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad and Bangalore post the technological revolution. However, India has a lot more to offer. He said that the state government needs to play a major role in giving the exports the required push.

Narendra Modi focused on the alternative ways of achieving development. He talked about the initiative where instead of producing electricity in a new plant, the government signed a MoU with 100 cities for the 'LEDfication' at the industrial and household level.  The initiative is slated to save as much as 21,500 MW electricity thus saving money and raw materials. He drew similar parallels in the context of LPG subsidies as well.
