Chandigarh 16th August:- Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director PGI on the occasion of Independence Day paid rich tributes to the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for his great contribution to the scientific and cultural progress of the nation. He appreciated the contribution of the faculty, resident doctors and other staff to the progress of the Institute. Prof Chawla said that our aim is to provide affordable patient care, promote innovation skills and begin new courses in Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics.
Referring to the digital India campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Prof Chawla said that our efforts are to make the information system of the Institute more and more patient friendly. Latest information regarding hospital information charges, OPD schedules, vacancies and tenders has been uploaded on the PGI web portal. Besides this, live statistics regarding the patient load in the OPDs and emergencies are displayed. Biochemistry lab investigation reports are now available on the web portal. Information regarding lab location and tests, OPD schedule, consultant's inquiry, hospital charges, helpline numbers and holidays is available at the general patient inquiry in all the centres and also on the kiosk installed at Nehru Hospital. Lab reports are now available on the doctor's desk.
