Chandigarh 23rd May:- Shemrock Senior Secondary School organised an inter-school declamation contest at its campus. As many as 37 schools of the tricity participated in this contest. The two topics for the declamation were "handsome is that what handsome does" and "what you sow so shall you reap". Avishi of Shivalik Public School and Aadeshwar Singh and of St John's School bagged the first prize. Whereas Raunak Singh of St John's School got the second prize & Jashanpreet of AKSIPS 65 bagged the third prize. Shubhangi of AKSIPS and Sanjot Singh of Shemrock School got the 1st and 2nd consolation prize respectively.
While Speaking at the moment Education Director Shemrock School, S K Sharma said that education must enable students to become more efficient and must train them quick, resolute and effective thinking. Educational goals of developing intelligence articulate character strengths, Creativity, ingenuity, optimism, industry, diligence, and perseverance which can be gained by participating in different competitions. According to him declamation is a fantastic speaking event to improve public speaking prowess. It provides opportunity for budding youth to show their hidden talent.
