Tree 'Plantation Drive' at MCM :100 Saplings of Medicinal Herbs planted

Chandigarh, 26th August:----The NSS Unit of the MCM DAV College for Women Chandigarh in collaboration with the Environment Society of the college organised a 'Plantation Drive' in the college campus to educate the students about the potential threats facing our environment and to sensitize them to endeavor for augmenting the bounty of nature.

Kuldeep Sharma (IFS), Deputy Conservator of Forests was the Chief Guest at the Occasion and was all praises for the superlative endeavour on the part of MCM DAV. In a programme which saw an enthusiastic participation from the students, the Chief Guest, Principal, Faculty Members, students and planted more than 100 Saplings mostly of medicinal herbs in the green zone of the college namely the 'Rishi Vatika' and vows were taken to nurture the saplings and preserve the peaceful greenery that mother nature so willingly bestows on us. More than 70 students presented posters on plants and their medicinal uses.

The Principal of the college Dr. Puneet Bedi emphasized the significance of preserving and nurturing the Mother Nature and impressed upon the participants the importance of co-existing in cordiality with the cosmos.
