Water Supply Committee of Municipal Corporation Meeting Held

Chandigarh 25^th July:- A meeting of Water Supply & Sewerage Disposal committee of Municipal Corporation was held today under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Shagufta Parveen and attended by Satish Kainth, Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Raj Bala Malik, Surinder Bahga, Rajesh Gupta, Des Raj Gupta, Pardeep Chhabra, Dr. Amrit Tiwari, Gurcharan Dass Kala and concerned senior officers of Municipal Corporation. During the meeting the councilors discussed and approved following agenda items: The committee members asked that detailed report regarding generator sets provided in all tubewells under Municipal Corporation will be tabled in the next committee meeting
The committee members also discussed the agenda item regarding penalty of water charges to the religious buildings in Chandigarh and recommended the item to F&CC. The committee also formed a sub panel having Mrs. Shagufta Parveen, Chairperson of the committee and three members including Satish Kainth, Surinder Bagah and Rajesh Gupta to inspect non functioning of tube wells and leakage or water wastage. The panel would visit any area along with area councilor. The sub panel would also visit to all sewerage treatment plants to inspect their workingetc.

The committee members accorded approval to the following agenda items: of Strengthening of existing SWD system by providing additional road gullies and repair of existing damaged road gullies/manholes in sector 30 (A&B) Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.69 lacs. Providing additional manholes and road gullies in water logging
prone area in sector 29 (A, B &C) Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.47 lacs
