SLSA organise Legal Literacy Classes-Cum-Seminar on “Drug Abuse”

Chandigarh 30th July:-- Hon'ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta, Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh, organised a Legal Literacy Classes-Cum-Seminar on "Drug Abuse" at Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary School, Sector 38-D, here today.The Programme was started by a Welcome Song by the students of the School followed by a dance performance by the students. It was attended by 50 students of the school. Pranav Gupta, Intern with SLSA told  the students about the Drug Abuse.The students were  asked to make concerted efforts to integrate personal and societal approaches to make people aware of the causes and the consequences of drug abuse and the ways of preventing it and to develop a rational attitude as well as the skills to say 'no' to drugs."They were told to shun Drugs so as to make future citizens of the country. Rajeshwar Singh Law Officer of the Authority told the students that the Students Legal Literacy Club established in different schools of Chandigarh   is doing great efforts in creating awareness among people. Lal Chand, Member Secretary of the Authority assured that such Legal Literacy classes cum Seminars would be a regular feature in all the schools where such clubs have been established. Ms Harpreet Kaur, Principal of the school and Ms Ritu Gupta Club Incharge gave assurance that they would invite the Authority quite often to conduct such seminars on varied topics. They also thanked the efforts being put in by the Authority in creating awareness among different sections of the society.
