Chandigarh 25th July:--- With an aim to provide social security to the workers under the unorganized sector and BPL families residing in the Union Territory of Chandigarh Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna was launched under the aegis of Labour Department, Chandigarh Administration here today.
A series of camps will be organized in the slum and rural areas of the City for enrolment of the beneficiaries under this scheme. The beneficiaries will be provided indoor treatment amounting to Rs. 30,000/- per annum in the empanelled hospitals throughout the country. The inaugural camp was organized at Govt. Middle School, Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Anil Kumar, IAS, Home-cum-Health Secretary Chandigarh Administration inaugurated the camp by handing over the card to the beneficiaries. V.K. Singh, IAS, Finance-cum-Labour Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was guest of honour on this occasion. M. Shayin, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh briefed the dignitaries about the salient features of the scheme.
