Chandigarh 26th July:---Wedding Asia 2013, got off to a luxurious start in Chandigarh's Hotel J W Marriott, which will be the tri-city's fashion address for three days – July 26, 27 & 28. Around 40 exhibitors are showcasing opulent trousseau & stylish wedding 'must haves' for the quality conscious customer. The mega exhibition has brought under one roof Renowned National level Fashion Designers, Jewellers, Hospitality industry players, Fashion accessories, Decor brands, Photographers, Wedding Invite designers etc.
While interacting with Media Maninder S. Sethi, creator of this mega wedding show said that Wedding Asia this year has been themed on Royal style in Indian Weddings. It is a premium show organized to herald the Wedding season & Wedding Asia prides itself in being the first true harbinger of genuine Wedding couture & accessories, for the Wedding season. It is an endeavour to bring all innovative, creative and quality brands on a common platform for fashion lovers." Adds Maninder, The idea is to give Wedding shoppers an exclusive range to choose from and not just to provide high end couture but also something for the budget consumer. Maninder Singh further said that For would be Brides, Grooms, friends and family wardrobe essentials for every wedding event, that is a part of the great Indian lavish wedding, starting right from engagement to the reception are on display. The exhibition showcases chic wedding wear by the ace designer Amit Talwar. Also present is Parul Grover, who's collection is inspired by the Greco-Roman drapes the supple and delicate drapes could easily make any woman look like a 'Greek Goddess'. Every single piece is adorned with sparkling stones, crystals, sequins, beads etc. Ritu Chhabra is there with her mesmerising 'Pratyaksha' line the ethnic wear on display has been designed using a wide range of fabrics adorned with exotic stones, Swarovski crystals and gems. Sakshi Kathuria, Kimatra by Kavita & Sugandh Mehak Creations, B9 Studio-Mumbai, Amrit Collections, Flaunt, Kanu Creations, Sancia Crations, Sapna's - Mumbai, Shagun by Richi, Studio Dream Collections are also major draws at the exhibition. It's not all pure bling & ethnic wear at Wedding Asia. Smitten Cocktail Couture from New York has brought Western formal wear like gowns, prom dresses, brunch outfits et al, A fact check: Kashmira Antia who became Mrs. India Classic Asia International 2013, donned a Smitten Cocktail Couture dress when she won the crown.
